How to Allocate More RAM to a Minecraft Server

Having enough RAM on your server is essential to ensure that your players have a lag-free experience. However, Minecraft is a memory-intensive game and can sometimes be difficult to run on certain systems.

To give your server more RAM, open the ATLauncher and click “Settings” on the right panel. Next, select the Java/Minecraft tab. At the beginning of this tab you’ll find a line of code that reads -Xmx2G. Change this to a higher value, such as 4G.
