Getting Paid With Social Media: A Zing Social Review That Will Help You Understand The Market - 5 minutes read
Why would I title this, "The Resurrection?" Well, Zing Social is the rebirth of a project that was dying, the late, "YourNight.com." No, Zing Social is not a scam. This Review will Reveal what you need to know about Zing before you make a decision to either join it, or promote it.
Zing Social is a United States based company that is trying to become the "Next Facebook." Actually, they have been trying for quite some time; YourNight was in beta testing for a long time, never came out of it, and now they have been bought out and changed their name to ZingSocial.
Zing is a "5 in 1″ Social Network, where you have separate profiles for Friends, Family, Professional, Blogging, and Dating. They launched their site in late January.
They have a free profile, and the upgraded investment is low, only 10-20 dollars a month(depending on what package you want), and if you do it properly, YES, you can make money with it. Am I promoting it? No, I am not; however, most of what I have to say about the site is positive.
I was concerned when I first saw that Zing was being launched that I was going to see this message plastered all over my Facebook wall: "Make Billions of Dollars for the Exact thing You are doing right Now! You are already on Social Networks, why not get Paid? 10 dollars a month will make you a billionaire! Just Click the Link and..."
...And you'll be on your way to being one of the most annoying people on Facebook... unless you actually learn how to brand yourself and generate leads in a way that actually works. Have you ever wondered why people HATE Network Marketers? Honestly, it's because a lot of the marketing techniques people use can be horrifically annoying. If one actually learns how to market, people will come to them, and they won't need to chase them down and spam all of their friends walls and email, or annoy the same neighbor once a month for 15 years.
Fortunately, Zing actually has some integrity and they are not encouraging their affiliates to use these terrible marketing tactics. I swapped a few emails with Verne Packer, the CEO, and the mission of the company is not really to be viewed as a Network Marketing opportunity; instead their platform is a Social Network site that is packed with value. From the numbers that I see, it doesn't seem to be taking off, but perhaps it will turn around somewhere in the future.
Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter, all grew into booming social networks because their growth was organic. People went to the sight because they thought it was cool, not because they thought they were going to get paid for it. As of today, I haven't seen any of the Affiliate driven social networks really get off the ground; therefore, if you are considering Zing from the opportunity standpoint, I have the following suggestions for you:
1. Learn the concepts of Lead Generation and Personal Branding. You need to brand yourself as a leader, not the company because if you end up building a following in a company that doesn't make it, you will at least want to be able to access that asset you have created. A Network of people is an extremely valuable asset if you understand the value of list building.
2. Don't spam your other social networks about it, because you'll just end up annoying people, and likely will get very little results.
Don't get the wrong Idea, I'm not bashing Zing Social. They are a legitimate company, and it just might be one that you want to work with. There are a few more things you should know while making your decision:
1. ZingSocial.com is not "The First" MLM Social Network that pays its members. There have been dozens of them, and honestly, several of them have been scams.
2. So Far, every one of these social networks that has launched, has been in "Beta Testing." Basically, this means that most of the features don't work, so when people sign up for it, they don't have any fun on the site, and never go to it unless they are trying to get their team excited about spamming Facebook and MySpace.
The good thing about Zing, is that they are basing their marketing efforts on the right platform. As I stated earlier, I had some discussions with Verne Packer, the CEO, and his vision of the company is to sell the benefits of their product, and simply help people make some money in the process.
The sad thing is that if I am blunt, I doubt that Zing Social is going to be around in the long run. It is going to be a steep climb for any of the Affiliate or Network Marketing Social Networks to compete with the established giants such as Facebook or Myspace.
