Drawing from her own experiences, writer/director Laura Chinn brings Suncoast to life. Suncoast Lookmovie story takes place in the early 2000s, providing an interesting backdrop. Just like Chinn's brother, the character Max finds himself in the same hospice as Terri Schiavo, a woman who became the center of a prolonged legal controversy. The dispute revolved around her husband's desire to remove her feeding tube due to her permanent vegetative state. Against the chaotic backdrop of media attention, Doris's journey unfolds within the confines of the hospice.
