In the 1860s, America was divided by the Civil War in the East, while the West saw ongoing expansion. A group of white pioneers sets out to establish a new settlement in the wilderness, lured by a handbill advertising a non-existent town called ‘Horizon’. The initial settlers fall victim to the local Apaches, only to be replaced by more colonisers with larger tents and additional supplies. Despite the presence of an army fort nearby, they remain vulnerable to attacks by indigenous peoples. A gripping scene of massacre and siege unfolds, reminiscent of John Ford’s The Searchers, against the backdrop of the mesas of the San Pedro Valley.
