Emily Bibb's Little Black Book Of New York

If one thing's for sure, EAU CLUB is a club we want to be a part of, and we're not the only ones.

This lifestyle brand that was founded by Emily Bibb, specializes in telling the story of their gorgeous essentials for the pool, beach, and bath; think contemporary lounge coats and naturally dyed stone-washed linen towels. As well as having a direct-to-consumer approach, it's unsurprising that they've been picked up by the likes of Moda Operandi, Goop and Fred Segal.

With storytelling in her blood, Bibb shares her stylish little black book of New York.

Between the curation and the views, The Whitney has never been one to disappoint. Located in what I believe to be one of the city’s most beautiful buildings, with incomparable views, it’s worth the visit any day of the year. The rooftop is a go-to for a vino as it overlooks the Hudson River and the Manhattan skyline.

Full of history, the Beatrice Inn is a West Village icon. It has had many lives over the years, the most recent being reimagined by chef Angie Mar. If you’re looking for a good craft cocktail and cool vibe  — pre or post-dinner — this bar is a must. And, if you take your french fries seriously, consider it done.

It may be an unexpected choice for some, but I love getting lost in the Flower Market. I’m a believer that flowers make a home, and find great joy in entertaining, so this has become one of my go-to’s over the years. Surrounded by an abundance of florals, it almost feels like an urban escape. A place where your imagination can run free. Ha — being a morning person helps too, as the best finds occur before 7am.

Likely an obvious choice for New Yorkers, the Hamptons is the go-to beach for those looking to escape the city. The summers are fun, but I actually find myself frequenting areas like Amagansett, during the winter. Being it’s the off season, the surrounding area is extremely quiet. I’ll often use a long weekend to escape here, reflect, and do strategy work.

Celebrating its reopening, Pastis recently made its comeback in the Meatpacking. The food is classic, French fare with a twist, and on a summer night, grabbing a table outside, is an ideal scene for people watching. It’s all very SJP, Sex in the City. The burger is a must.

Recently opened in the new Hudson Yards, it’s a refreshing take on retail, offering a thoughtful, artistic curation of fashion, lifestyle, and wellness partners. It’s a place of discovery, slowing you down in a way, from the pace of city living. I often leave feeling like I’ve discovered something new, be it an emerging brand, one-of-a-kind piece, or a unique gift.

While I’m not one to hit the club scene often, on occasion, I do appreciate a good night out. Located in the Lower East Side, PUBLIC is a fairly new hotel with a great scene. The food is excellent, the rooftop, better. When the weather is warm, the night is young.

Let me count the ways… what first drew me to Shibui Spa were the facilities, specifically the swimming pool — it’s unlike any other in the city. What had me coming back, were the treatments — my go-to being a massage. I don’t frequent often, but rather use it as a place to celebrate a birthday, a special occasion, or milestones.

While not hidden (and often only populated by a handful of runners), its vastness easily evokes the feeling of solitude. Sandwiched between views of both the Manhattan and Jersey City skylines, it's beautiful — especially at sunrise or sunset. The perfect spot to clear your mind.

When I moved to the city from San Francisco, Butterfly Studio was the recommendation of several friends, and it’s been my place ever since. They nail a good ‘California blonde.’ is my go-to colorist.

Landmark: Central Park, looking onto the Plaza

To me, this will forever be the epitome of NYC and where I first fell in love with the city as a child. Between The Plaza, Pulitzer Fountain, and the romance of horse-drawn carriages — it's absolutely iconic. It's a great place to bring visitors and I highly suggest grabbing a bite at the Food Hall — located in the basement of the Plaza — before taking a stroll in Central Park.

Aside from being very central, this place is an all around good time. It suits everyone, visitors and locals alike. I recommend the Nomad Bar if you’re meeting friends or colleagues for happy hour, the Library for a coffee and a good read, and dining in the Parlour. ‘The Chicken’ is quite possibly, one of the best dishes in NYC. Also, those visiting in autumn, try to reserve a ticket at the Halloween Bash — it’s an epic good time.

With the motto #LongLivePrint, Cas Magazines is not glamorous or pretentious in any regard, but truly has it all. Filled with magazines from floor to ceiling, they have ‘2,500 titles’ sourced globally. I often find myself paying a visit for a few new reads on the weekend, followed by a visit to the tiny (and almost hidden) Jane Street Garden located directly across the street.

A true escape without even leaving the city, The Met Cloisters is magical. In just a few subway stops, you feel like you’re in a completely different world. While the museum itself is stunning, the grounds are what make it worth the trip. Overlooking the Hudson River, it’s the perfect place for a picnic with friends.

Because it's home! I've lived here for just over 3 years and while located in the lower, west end of the city, it offers small-town vibes. There are local restaurants, artists, and events, making it easy to become close to your neighbors. And, because of its historical charm, there's not a day where you can’t come across a little something unexpected.
