I did some digging and came up with few solutions and It has worked for me. I’m now 46 years old and when I was younger I used to be very active in sports and as years went by I became less active and stopped caring about what I eat. Changing the way I eat:
Low-calorie intake
First of all, you will have to cut down on your calorie intake. Choice has to be made and if you are serious about losing weight fast. This is what I did:
- Eliminate all bad carbs — switching from Brown to White
Carbs are very important because they fuel up the body in order to carry out our daily activities. I stopped eating everything white, which includes, white rice, white bread, white sugar and replaced them with their brown versions with are much healthier and have more fibers. Fibers are important because they promote a healthy guy and helps with our metabolism. I also eat more veggies, because they are good carb sources. I also decided to include sweet potatoes in my diet. Sweet potatoes are another healthy carb source.

- Rice chicken vegetable soup
At least 2 times a week I prepared chicken vegetable soup. Add chicken parts and a mixture of fresh vegetables and olive oil. I Made sure that It was well balanced, having my protein, healthy carbs, and healthy fat sources.
- Cut back on sugars
- Similar to white carbs, I also switched my sugars, and chose brown sugar rather than white, because it’s more healthy.
- Intermittent fasting
Once a week I would fast for 24hrs, through intermittent fasting,
Funny thing at the time when I was practicing this method I didn’t
I didn’t know that the proper name for this type of fasting was intermittent fasting and I didn’t invent it. I was seeing great results out of it.
One of the most popular ways to lose weight in a week is by intermittent fasting. There are three popular intermittent fasting methods. These are:
Include HIIT (high-intensity interval training)
Ok Don’t panic, this can sound a little bit intimidating.
So if you have just 20 minutes that you can spare in a day, you can incorporate these two HITT (High-intensity interval training) workouts, to help achieve your weight loss goal right at the comfort of your home. The routine incorporates bodyweight strength moves, done in quick intervals, to keep your heart rate up –the hallmark of a solid cardio workout!
In order for it to give you the full impact of cardio workout–as all HIIT workouts should–the work you put in will be very intense. The workouts target the whole body, giving you the best of both worlds — the ideal routine weight loss regime at home burning those calories while building muscle for that cut and well-curved body.
These are my top workout;
- Kettlebell swing
I love kettlebells and they are very effective for weight loss. For ladies ideally best to start with 5 or 8 kilos and for men 12 or 16 kilos.
- Now Place both feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart and make sure you stand in a spine-neutral position.
- With your knees bent slightly and hips thrust back, adopt a squat-like position, but refrain from going as far down.
- Thrust your hip forward and swing the kettlebell to the front of your body shoulder height.
- Place your arms in front of your body and use both hands, palms down, to hold the kettlebell.
- Do 10 swings, then 9 swings counting down till you rich 1

Burpees
Start with your feet hip-distance apart. Bring your palms to the floor.
- Jump your feet back to assume a high plank position, keeping your hips lifted and your core tight.
- Bend your elbows and do 1 push-up.
- Then jump your feet to the outside of your hands. As you stand up, explode up jumping as high as you can, and bringing your arms overhead.
- Start from 10 till you reach 1
Alternate kettlebell swing and burpees
- Start off kettlebell swing doing 10 swings
- Do 10 burpees
- Rest for 30 seconds
- Do 9 kettlebell swings
- Do these alternatively till you reach 1.These two exercises will surely get your heart pumping and you will burn fat in no time.
A good diet and HIIT Workout will help you get back into shape and change your body. It’s not difficult. If you have not been physically active, this can be a little bit challenging at the beginning but you will soon find out that swinging a kettlebell can be fun.

Weight loss plateau
During my weight loss journey, I had many challenges but I managed to stay on top of things. Discouragement and temptations can get in the way and you constantly have to keep on reminding yourself the reason why you started, the reason why you need this.
There comes a time after all that you have done, you feel that you are not losing weight as you have been over the last couple of weeks. You are exercising and eating right and someone your body is not responding.
This is called the weight loss plateau. Your body is a magnificent piece of machinery and at all costs, it will try to hang on to those fat reserves, so to use as fuel later. So no matter what you do, you will not lose weight.
There is a trick to get off the weight loss plateau
Yes, you can do this by tricking the body and cause it to get back into the rhythm and continue bur fat.
How?
It’s very easy, this is what I have learned and applied.
When you reach a weight loss plateau, don’t panic, it’s normal, your body is doing what it was designed to do, this is preservation mode. All you have to do is EAT foods that you have been depriving yourself of. It’s like a cheat day. Eat your bad carbs, break the rules for at least 2- 3 days. Then go back to your diet. This whole thing will put your body into a confused state as it was not expecting such rewards. Then you will start losing all over again.
