Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Eyeshadow Palette - 7 minutes read

Rose Quartz

Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Eyeshadow Palette includes eight matte eyeshadows and 10 shimmery eyeshadows. I appreciate that the brand does different textures and formulas throughout their palettes, but it does make for a bit of a learning curve when working with their products and ratings can be all over the place as performance is not consistent from shade to shade. The matte eyeshadows were a little thin and more often lightly to moderately powdery, so they performed best over an eyeshadow primer. The shimmers tended to be on the thicker side, so they did not always layer as evenly with the thinner mattes; a few shimmers had to be applied with a fingertip or thinned out with a dampened brush.

Look Using this Product

Quartz

Quartz is a very light, peachy orange with moderate, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had mostly opaque pigmentation but applied best with a fingertip as the texture was denser and a little stiff, while still being thin, so it did not transfer as evenly to bare skin as desired. There were signs of fading after seven hours of wear.

Aura

Aura is a darker, reddish-plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, while the texture was soft, smooth, and blendable, though a little thin and lightly powdery in the pan. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Gratitude

Gratitude is a darker, dusty pink with warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had full color coverage in one layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out without issue. The texture was soft, lightly powdery but not prone to fallout or sheering it. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Cosmic Love

Cosmic Love is a medium purple with warmer undertones and cooler, blue-to-violet shifting sparkle. The texture was moderately dense, slightly thick, so it picked up best with a fingertip to get an even layer of product that transferred to the lid without lots of fallout. It had mostly opaque, buildable color payoff. This shade wore well for eight hours before fading a bit but had light fallout over time.

Empowered

Empowered is a deep, subdued purple with cool undertones and a metallic finish. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that was dense but not overly thick. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Joy

Joy is a light-medium pink with subtle, warm-toned pink with a sparkling finish. It had a thicker consistency that was more prone to emphasizing lid texture as it had a tendency to “clump” a little, so I’d recommend applying it with a fingertip or a dampened brush, which helped to smooth it out a bit. It had semi-opaque color payoff that lasted decently for seven and a half hours.

Precious

Precious is a medium, purple-taupe with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well without sheering out too readily. The texture was lightly powdery and thinner than average, but it didn’t prove to be an issue during application. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Energized

Energized is a very light, golden taupe with warm undertones and a bright, metallic finish. The texture was smooth, moderately dense but not overly thick, which ensured it picked up well with a dry brush but had excellent adhesion and full color payoff in one layer. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Love Stone

Love Stone has a glossy, transparent base with fine pearl that was slightly pink and warm-toned. Short of breaking up the pearls in the pan itself, it was hard to get more than a glossy finish on skin. It made everything it was next to migrate and slide around, so it did not work well as a companion product to the rest of the eyeshadows. The “best” use I had for it was on the brow bone or as a cheek highlighter (the latter being the best).

Cherished

Cherished is a bright, very light pink with cool, blue undertones and a matte finish. It had medium pigmentation in a single layer, which did not build up well without a primer underneath. The texture was thinner and somewhat powdery, which made it more prone to sheering out. This shade showed signs of fading after seven hours of wear.

Blissful

Blissful is a bright, rosy-brown base with iridescent sparkle that flashed teal and blue paired with a sparkling, metallic finish. The texture felt more cream-like as it was emollient, softer but dense and seemed full of binder, which helped the eyeshadow apply evenly to bare skin without the need to use a wet brush. It had opaque color coverage that stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Happiness

Happiness is a bright, medium pink with cool, blue undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff with a soft, somewhat powdery texture that was slightly thinner, so it was best over an eyeshadow primer. It wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Mantra

Mantra is a deep brown with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had medium color coverage that was somewhat buildable, but it was moderately powdery and on the thinner side, which meant it was in need of an eyeshadow primer to really perform decently. There were signs of fading present after seven hours of wear.

Serenity

Serenity is a darker mauve with cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had a soft, moderately powdery texture that was on the thinner side, so it was more prone to sheering out. It had medium color payoff that was only buildable when applied over an eyeshadow primer. It stayed on well for seven hours before fading visibly.

Abundance

Abundance is a darker lavender with neutral undertones and a metallic finish. It had a very soft, almost too yielding consistency, so it was best picked up with a lighter touch and a denser brush. It had opaque color coverage that adhered evenly and blended out well. This shade lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Moon Magic

Moon Magic is a bright, iridescent pink and blue mix of shimmer and fine sparkle. It had a more emollient consistency that helped all the sparkly bits adhere to bare skin without being prone to fallout (even during wear). It had semi-opaque coverage but the base seemed more transparent to my eye. This shade wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Radiate

Radiate is a medium, rosy mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff paired with a soft, somewhat powdery texture that was on the thinner side, but I didn’t have issues with it sheering out too readily or having fallout. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Self Love

Self Love is a light pink with soft, warm undertones and a frosted finish. The texture was thicker and almost chunky, which I found resulted in a more textured/thicker look applied to bare skin. I’d recommend using a dampened brush, which helped to stretch and spread the product out without compromising the full coverage. It lasted well for seven and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.
