Healthy Foods To Boost Your Immunity - 4 minutes read
We’ve all heard that food is medicine, but it’s important to remember that not all foods are created equal. Some foods act as antioxidants, while others provide energy, and still others serve as bodybuilders, among other things. Today, we’ll look at foods that can help our immune systems.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, it’s been recommended countless times to eat immune-boosting foods to help fight the cold, among other preventive measures. With the ongoing pandemic, most people have gone from rolling their eyes whenever they’re told to eat a fruit or vegetable (or both) instead of fast food to actually going out of their way to stock up on fruits and vegetables.
What a difference a blink of an eye can make! Our dietary preferences have changed as a result of this shift, which can be attributed to survival instincts. Nobody’s trying to die young, right? This is the time to start learning from seasoned vegans and fitness enthusiasts.

Continue to eat mushrooms if you enjoy them; you’re doing fine. Mushrooms are high in vitamins, minerals, and polysaccharides, all of which help to boost immunity. Mushrooms can be prepared in a variety of delicious ways, but sautéed mushrooms are our favorite. If that’s not your thing, then mushrooms as a topping or in a soup might be.

This is the most obvious of all of them. Fruits and vegetables are high in vitamins and antioxidants, which help fight free radicals and promote cell growth. To boost your immunity this season, eat citrus fruits high in Vitamin C, such as oranges, grapefruit, kiwi, and papaya. Berries are also highly recommended because they are high in antioxidants. Antioxidants and vitamin-rich foods to include in your daily diet include red bell peppers, broccoli, garlic, ginger, spinach, and turmeric.
Yogurt

The key is to be cautious because there are a lot of things on the market that are labeled as yogurt but aren’t. Choose Greek yogurt that is high in probiotics, which the body requires to combat toxins. Yogurt protects the organs from infection by harmful microorganisms because it contains “good bacteria” that fight off the bad bacteria.
Chicken Soup

Mother is the wisest! Do you recall how hot and spicy chicken soup was used to treat the flu? Chicken is high in protein, which helps to boost your immunity and repair damaged tissues. Water in the soup hydrates the body, flushes out toxins, and decongests the nasal cavity, while Vitamin C in the pepper seasoning boosts immunity. Such delectable medicine! Surely, this is one of those foods that boosts both men and women’s immunity to the common cold.
Zobo drink (Hibiscus tea)
If this name doesn’t sound familiar, you’re probably familiar with hibiscus tea. This drink contains a significant amount of garlic and ginger, in addition to the hibiscus leaf. Zobo (Hibiscus tea) is high in Vitamin C, has antibacterial properties, and can even help with early-stage depression. Garlic contains allicin, which helps to boost immunity, while ginger helps to fight viral infections like the flu and lower cholesterol levels in the body. It’s not only medicinal, but it’s also a delicious drink. It’s what we like to refer to as “happiness in a cup.”
It is critical that we keep a close eye on our diet and overall lifestyle. Make a conscious effort to rest more, eat better, exercise more, and re-strategize your life goals in the new year.
