Letrozole 2.5mg 2

In a randomized clinical trial conducted by the Early Breast Cancer Realists’ Collaborative Group (EBCTCG) to investigate the efficacy of letrozole in disease-free survival in post-menopausal women, letrozole was found to improve disease-free survival when compared to no additional endocrine therapy. Approximately 14,560 post-menopausal women aged 50-69 participated in the study and were randomized to receive either letrozole for 5 years or no additional endocrine therapy.

After a median follow-up of 5 years, the results indicated that disease-free survival was significantly improved by using letrozole (hazard ratio: 0.86). Furthermore, the study found that letrozole increased the 5-year disease-free survival rate in women with hormone receptor-positive tumors when compared to no additional therapy.
