The Lava Lustre Extreme Badass Eye Quad from Tom Ford Beauty has a new “high-impact” formula that provides high-shine, twinkling sparkle, and full coverage. It was like a better version of the brand’s signature “sparkly” shade from their regular quads. All four shades performed similarly; they were dense and emollient enough to have minimal fallout during application and wear, though they weren’t completely fallout-free.

It had a single-layer opaque color payoff that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely with minimal fallout. It worked with a dry brush because the texture was moderately dense, lightly emollient, and thicker without being too thick, but it applied the smoothest and least fallout-prone with a fingertip. It stayed put for eight hours, with only minor fallout.

Lava Lustre #2 is a richer, warmer bronze with a metallic sheen. The texture was silky smooth, dense, and slightly thick to the touch, but emollient enough to pick up easily with a dry brush. It had opaque color coverage that spread evenly across my lid and diffused well along the edges without causing fallout. It lasted for eight and a half hours and had very little fallout.

Lava Lustre #3

Lava Lustre #3 is a medium red with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had rich pigmentation and a lightly creamy texture that was dense, slightly thicker, but not to the point of being difficult to apply evenly to bare skin with a dry brush. It lasted for about eight hours, with some lingering effects.

Lava Lustre #4 is a gilded beige with warm undertones, a metallic finish, and a hint of sparkle. When applied to bare skin, it had a very wet look to it, and it seemed to “melt” after a few minutes for a particularly seamless sheen. It had a rich color coverage that adhered well to bare skin, with a smooth, even laydown of product achieved even with a dry brush, though there was some fallout if I didn’t apply with my fingertip. It stayed put for eight and a half hours before slightly creasing.
