Prior to dating Prince Harry and eventually marrying him in 2018 — Meghan, Duchess of Sussexwas a moderately-known actress. Following her breakout role on the hit drama series, Suits — Markle gained a modest following for her acting, personal blog — The Tig, and her activism.

After marrying into the British royal family, Marklegave up her life and career as she knew it. However, she continued to advocate for women, education, animal rights, climate control, and mental health issues. Despite putting her best foot forward — the British press and public refused to give the Los Angeles native a break.

With two years of living with bullying and harassment– Markle and Harry, Duke of Sussex decided to do something drastic. They resigned from their positions in the British royal family and the verb, “to Meghan Markle” was born.

Now that they are no longer working members of the royal family — the Sussexes have fled to Canada where they are carving out a new peaceful and financially independent life for themselves.

An insider told US Weekly, that “[Prince Harry] is really excited about the next chapter in their lives.” For her part, Markle is blissfully happy to be away from the insanity of royal life. “She doesn’t come from millions,” the source revealed. She’s worked hard to get to where she is today. Meghan loves the idea of being the breadwinner. She has no plans to do another show like Suits, but Harry’s been encouraging her to do more voice-over work, writing, producing and directing in her free time.”
