Cilla Raie releases yet another exciting EP called ‘Perverse’ for 2022 supported by Help Musicians/MOBO Awards and Arts England/National Lottery. The EP title signifies a deeper message of being unorthodox, creating music contrary to the expected standard. Experimenting with different sounds and with the involvement of Grime producers, Treble Clef and Musical D. R&B producers XVR Blck and Jemil Major and Serk Lelabo.
Including a special unorthodox remix of Longtime produced by DS Made IT. Cilla takes a spin on her frontline R&B sounds, mixing this in with influences of grime and hints of drill. Blending in her soft sultry vocals with an essence of confidence. The EP touches on relatable concepts with the expression of self belief, affirmations and taking a chance on what you believe and most importantly believing in yourself.
Cilla Raie began recording music at just 14-years-old and takes inspiration from her early influences such as Aaliyah, Toni Braxton and Tamia. During the early stages of her musical journey, Cilla was mentored by super producer DaV-inche (Stormzy, Skepta, Wiley) and manager Jackie Davison MBE (Wayne Hector). In 2014, Cilla Raie released her first self-titled debut project produced by Sillky (Mabel, Craig David) and The Arcade (Doja Cat, Migos).
In 2021, Cilla Raie released her second ‘Reconnected’ EP which caught the attention of Wonderland Magazine, MTV, Capital Xtra and more. With her EP peaking at number 2 on the UK Itunes R&B/Soul Album Charts garnering further support from Reprezent, Earmilk, Apple News and more. At the top of 2022, she became Trace Hit’s Recommendation for April aired across the week on SKY TV and playlisted by Amazon plus 44.
