Huda Beauty Python Wild Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette - 4 minutes read

Huda Beauty Python Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette is a new, limited edition palette that includes five matte eyeshadows and four shimmer shades in a more colorful composition. The quality was solid across the board with soft, fairly pigmented and blendable mattes and shimmers that worked well with a dry brush (as well as a dampened brush or fingertip); the latter hasn’t always been the case with Huda Beauty’s shimmer formula, which has often been too thick/dense. The shimmer formula will still be more ideal for someone who tends to use their brushes damp or likes applying shimmers with a fingertip OR doesn’t mind some packing and light fallout when working with a dry brush. The matte eyeshadows were on the more powdery side, but they were buildable, blendable, and easy enough to work with.

Huda Beauty Python #1 Eyeshadow
Python #1
Python #1 is a deep blue with a more transparent base chocked full of bluish-teal and blue shimmer and micro-sparkle. It had semi-opaque color coverage applied with a dry brush and could be improved with a dampened brush or a fingertip for application. The texture was lightly emollient, which helped to minimize fallout during application, but it did seem to apply more smoothly when really pressed and pushed onto the skin. It was slightly thicker didn’t meld as well as the mattes (which were thinner). It stayed on well for eight hours with light fallout over time.
Huda Beauty Python #2 Eyeshadow
Python #2
Python #2 is a bright, light lime green with moderate, warm undertones and a sparkling finish. It had opaque color payoff paired with a smooth, moderately dense texture that was lightly emollient but not too heavy or too firmly-pressed into the pan, so it still picked up well with a dry brush and had good adhesion without having to use fingertips. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.
Huda Beauty Python #3 Eyeshadow
Python #3
Python #3 is a mid-depth gold with warmer, more orange undertones and green-gold duochrome shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It was richly pigmented and applied evenly to bare skin with good adhesion on its own thanks to the smooth, lightly creamy consistency. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.
Python #4
Python #4 is a muted, medium green with cooler undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, somewhat buildable color payoff paired with a soft, lightly powdery consistency that was slightly thinner than I’ve found seems to be ideal (for balancing blending, opacity, and adhesion). I would recommend using the formula with a primer, which helped the powder stay truer to color and grip on better. It stayed on decently for seven and a half hours before fading a bit.
Huda Beauty Python #5 Eyeshadow
Python #5
Python #5 has a deep, purplish-gray base with flecks of green and teal pearl and micro-sparkle throughout. It had semi-opaque color coverage that was best applied with a dampened brush, as this ensured precise application but higher coverage that was more even overall. The texture was lightly emollient, slightly more firmly-pressed into the pan, but it was workable with a dry brush. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.
Python #6
Python #6 is a deep brown with neutral undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color payoff, but it seemed prone to sheering out and definitely got lost a bit when I tried to blend it with the darker green (#4) as it turned almost grayish. It was truer to color and performed better when paired with the warmer tones (like #8 and #9) in the palette. The consistency was soft, blendable, and somewhat powdery in the pan. This shade showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear.
Python #7
Python #7 is a bright chartreuse green with strong, warm yellow undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was lightly powdery but blendable and still had good adhesion to bare skin, which delivered mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.
Python #8
Python #8 is a brighter, medium-dark coral with warmer, more orange-leaning undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation paired with a soft, lightly powdery texture that was blendable but not prone to fallout or sheering out too readily. It lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.
Python #9
Python #9 is a medium brown with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage with a soft, lightly powdery texture that was smooth, finely-milled, and blendable. It wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.
