Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, 17, cuddles a baby girl as she joins mother Queen Mathilde

Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium looked completely at ease as she joined her mother and held an adorable baby during a royal visit to Kenya.

The 17-year-old smiled as her mother, 46, cooed over the child who was wearing a knitted orange hat with a white jacket and dress.

Princess Elisabeth donned a pair of white jeans, trainers and a pink top for the visit to AMREF Child Protection and Development Centre, in Dagoretti, Nairobi.

This is the first official trip abroad for the heir to the throne who is currently on a break from her school in Wales, reports the Brussels Times.

For the outing today Queen Mathilde, who has been the honorary president of Unicef Belgium for ten years, wore a green and yellow patterned trouser suit.

The royal paired her striking outfit with some brown shoes and a shoulder bag with a large button detail.

Queen Mathilde opted to wear her hair down while her eldest child Princess Elisabeth clipped back hers to keep it off her face.  

The mother and daughter duo, who will be in Kenya for three days, also shared a sweet moment today when Mathilde leaned in towards Elisabeth.

The young Princess could be seen smiling and looking down as her mother laughed during the exchange.

The AMREF Child Protection and Development Centre is a community based non-residential safe, secure and caring environment.

It focuses on children in need of special care and protection, particularly those living in street situations.  

Yesterday the Queen and Princess visited the Kakuma refugee camp which has around 185,000 refugees from Ethiopia, Somalia, and South Sudan.

The final day of their trip tomorrow is set to include a meeting with the local Maasai people. 

Elisabeth's three siblings Princess Eleonore, 11, Prince Emmanuel, 13, and Prince Gabriel, 15, are not with the Queen on this royal trip. 

Elisabeth is the first child of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde and is first in line of succession to the Belgian throne.

When her father acceded to the throne on 21 July 2013, Elisabeth became Duchess of Brabant, a title reserved for the heir apparent.

Elisabeth attends the United World College of the Atlantic (UWC) in Wales and enjoys playing tennis, skiing and spending time with her friends.  

In April Princess Elisabeth joined her father King Philippe at a firefighter training demonstration in Brussels and even got to use a hose.
