Confluence: After my second delivery in 2015, I weighed 755 kg and gradually gained a lot of weight. With all the extra kilos, I started to face multiple health problems including high thyroid levels and low vitamin D levels.

Gradually my weight, my physical appearance as well as the health issues that I was suffering from started to affect my mental health. I reached a point where I began to neglect the nutritional needs of the body and resorted to all kinds of junk food. This was especially difficult for me because I was a physical therapist as well as a fitness instructor and people started judging my attendance and fitness level.

I realized that this is high time and I need to respect it enough to take care of my body. I have started to bring discipline in all aspects of my life, the results starting from January 2020 are here for everyone to see.

My breakfast: Wheat flakes, sugar-free muesli with low-fat milk and egg whites, a source of protein like sprouts and mung bean chilli.

My lunch: I swear by portion control. My lunch consisted of pulses, vegetables, salads, chapatis, a portion of yoghurt, a small portion of rice, and finally some sweets.

My dinner: I made sure I ate only protein at my dinner and no sugars. So, I stick with vegetables and fruits.

Pre-workout meals: I prefer fruits, nuts, figs, prunes and fried beans. I have a cup of green tea or a black coffee with my pre-workout meal.

Workout post-meal: protein shake

I involved: low-fat milk, cookies and home-cooked, one cup of hot coffee with light-fried meals.

My practice: I work at least 1.5 hours a day, 6 days a week. My workout routine consists of the upper body and lower body exercises and core strengthening routines. I stick to HIIT twice a week and add power to yoga once a week

How will I be inspired? When you start taking care of your body, you are forced to notice big and small changes in terms of your physical and mental strength. Also, the size of my clothes has changed from XL to S, which keeps me committed to this ride.

How do you make sure you don’t lose focus? I make sure to monitor my weight regularly because it helps me track my weight loss journey and keep it focused. Also, the feedback from the people around me boosts my spirits and ensures that I continue to make a hundred per cent effort.

What is the hardest part of being overweight? As a physical therapist and fitness instructor, I was struggling in my professional and personal life. There was a time when people started commenting on my presence and fitness level out of respect for my profession

What size do you see yourself under 10? I want to be stronger and fitter while maintaining my current body weight (49 kg).

What are the changes in your lifestyle? When I decided to take care of my body I knew it would only be possible through a disciplined lifestyle. So, I included healthy home-cooked meals and made out an active daily routine for myself.
