Duke + Dexter Launches Collaboration With Rapper Snoop Dogg

Footwear, like every other important article of apparel, has an important role for a well-dressed man. I think we can all agree that today's shoes are as fashionable as they are functional. In fact, there is a contemporary attitude toward footwear -proving that many times footwear unquestionably expresses a man's vanity at its most indulgent. All your life you've probably been told to wear conservative shoes. It's not necessarily so.

The last time we saw a great revival in footwear was when sportswear influenced the category. Subsequently, great comfort and modifications in style had been offered to the consumer. At present, consumers have bene enjoying a new style popularity happening in mens shoes. You see, fashionable footwear has recently staged a strong comeback. I can only suggest to you to remember to save your colorful footwear for your casual clothes. Bold shoes clash with business-suit- tie and shirt outfits.

The Snoop Dogg collaboration, will be a limited edition run of just 1,000 pairs that are numbered individually to mark their exclusivity. Following the re-launch of the brand in March, Duke + Dexter vowed to create limited edition collections to ensure that each pair of shoes is unique to the individual, with the aim of ensuring a more sustainable production approach.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Rapper and EntertainerSnoop Dogg about his creative partnership with Duke + Dexter, highlights about the current collection and why he thinks you need to check out this dynamic brand!

Joseph DeAcetis: Talk to Forbes about the your involvement with the brand?  

Snoop Dogg: Well - I was aware of the Duke + Dexter and love their distinctive style. Back in 2018 I posted a picture of their shoes on Instagram I liked. They very smartly reached out to me and we started by creating some dope bespoke styles together, I grew my relationship with Archie and we started building a plan... the rest is history!

SD: I wanted the collaboration to be sleek and stylish, like me. The design team helped me to put together shoes that represented my style and me. I do things differently; you know that. It was important that we created a first collection that had distinction, but also class. Real class no fakes shit.

We've chosen 3 styles of shoes (the slide, the mule & the loafer) that take you from pool to party. Now that is very much my style

JD: Which model shoe is your favorite and why? 

SD: Honestly, I love them all. The design team did a great a job executing my vision. But if I had to choose one, the Black & Gold Snoop Face Loafer. For me the D+D Loafer style is so elegant and I know it's the shoe the brand started with. I love the versatility of it and it's a style I wear daily at the studio, but also for my shows and events.

I also love the Black on Black Velvet Leaf Loafer. It's such a beautifully subtle design, but I guess you could say it also tells my story well...

SD: Very excited to tell Forbes that my new album “I want to thank me” drops in August 2019

JD: You have the floor: Talk to my viewers about why they should try this brand? 

SD: D+D do things differently - they classy, they real. There’s so much fake shit out there nowadays, so many copycats. I only admire brands like this, brands who create their own, truly original stories and unique identities.

JD: Three reasons to purchase this footwear now? 

JD: If Duke + Dexter were a song, which would it be and why? 

SD: Well, these are the lyrics you’ll find engraved in gold in the shoe box for every pair - “La Di Da Di, we like to party We Don't Cause Trouble, We don't bother nobody”. That says it all.

JD: What are you future projections and growth strategy for the next few years? 

SD: I’ve started my own concert promotions company “Uncle Snoop’s Army” powered by Bobby Dee presents. We’ll be producing concerts and festivals. Be on the lookout for that!

Trust me, I have a lot going the rest of the year. More music, film and TV projects are all coming... but you have to stay tuned, I can't give much away!
