Habstrakt And Roderick Porter’s Newest Joint Effort, “Outer Space” - 1 minute read
Habstrakt, a French DJ and producer living in Los Angeles, has released his newest collaboration with Roderick Porter. With a piercing bass house drop that lovers of the genre know and appreciate, the tune delivers the optimum dance-floor punch in just over three minutes. Sensual words are paired with a jump-up rhythm created by Habstrakt, as well as vocals from the rising Roderick Porter. Porter’s influence on the single is obvious, as he idolizes the raw, DIY alt hip-hop of Tyler, The Creator, Mac Miller, XXXtentacion, Lil Peep, and others, lending that angsty undertone to the music that connects with Habstrakt’s band of ardent followers.
Habstrakt’s penchant for fusing visual arts with his own personal creative style – tattoos, hair designs, and the like – with his music career provides his production an innovative, characteristic sound that is distinct and crosses across genres. This comes on the heels of a more melodious duet with Tchami, “Eternity” (with Lena Leon), which was released on Confession in October of last year. Habstrakt remixed ACRAZE’s “Do It To It” in August, like many others, but this single with Porter will be his first independent release since 2021.
