Effin Makes A Comeback With A Brand-New Single,“Playtime” - 1 minute read

After mostly releasing on Never Say Die (until their unfortunate closure earlier this year) and Deadbeats, Effin returns to Disciple for the first time since 2019 tomorrow with “Playtime.” In 2019, Effin released “Level Up” on Round Table with Jayceeoh. “Playtime” is far more flighty and lighthearted in comparison, but don’t be fooled by the generic-sounding build.

“‘Playtime’ builds like a big room house record but drops into a wall of bass and crunchy madness,” Effin says of the track. It combines many of my favorite genres and ideas, resulting in a crazy tune that is as much fun to perform as it was to create.” The build, with its punchy snares and sweet vocal leads and synths, could easily come from Marshmello‘s camp, but the drop is 100% filth. Nonetheless, the sweet elements pervade throughout to give the project more variety and personality.
