After months of teasing, Lamborghini has finally unveiled the Huracán Sterrato. The off-road sports automobile was debuted at Art Basel Miami. The Huracán Sterrato is “built for optimum driving pleasure even away from the asphalt on loose or dirt conditions,” according to the firm in a press statement. This new automobile takes the notion of sportiness to a new level by incorporating the brand’s “principles of bravery, authenticity, and the unexpected” into the final masterpiece.

The Sterrato’s lineage can be traced back to June 2019, when it was initially conceived, and it is the Huracán line’s final version after eight years. Since its debut, several changes have been made, such as raising the car’s suspension by 44mm for a smoother ride on various terrains. Other off-roading upgrades include auxiliary lighting, roof rails, carbon-fibre fender arches, and a set of Bridgestone-exclusive 19-inch wheels.

The sports vehicle is powered by a 5.2-litre V-120 engine that produces 602 horsepower and 413 ft of torque using a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The automobile accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. The Sterrato has a peak speed of 162 miles per hour. Furthermore, as the firm transitions to an electrified future, this powertrain will be Lamborghini’s final pure-combustion engine. An extra air inlet on the rear hood of the Sterrato provides a higher intake of clean air when driving on dusty tracks. For braking, the front features 15-inch brakes with six-piston callipers, while the rear has 14-inch brakes with four-piston callipers.

The new Sterrato has an improved version of Lamborghini’s Integrated Vehicle Dynamics System, which lets the driver to choose between three calibration modes: Strada, Sport, and Rally. The final setting facilitates driving in low-grip circumstances and off-road drifting. The Sterrato’s underbody is made of aluminum, which protects it from the weather and hard situations. Inside, the car is outfitted with bespoke Alcantara Verde Sterrato upholstery and embodies the Huracán line’s “feel like pilot” attitude. The driver is positioned in the center of the passenger compartment, giving him or her complete control over all of the vehicle’s features.

“True to our principles as a visionary, daring, and unorthodox brand, we are forging new ground in driving experiences with the Sterrato,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini Chairman and CEO. “Presenting the car at Art Basel in Miami reflects how, like an avant-garde work of art, the Sterrato represents a radical and original interpretation of the super sports car concept,” says the company. “However, in terms of performance, the Sterrato belongs in the world’s most dynamic and exciting driving environments.”

“With the Sterrato’s high-speed all-terrain concept, we have uniquely blended the driving experience of a real super sports car and the enjoyment of driving a rally vehicle,” said Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr. “Lamborghini automobiles are always emotional, and the Sterrato adds a new level of driving excitement.”

The new Huracán Sterrato will be produced in a restricted quantity of 1,499 vehicles.
