Wild Brown (529)

Dior Wild Brown (529) 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette is a new(er) warm-toned, neutral color story with finishes that ranged from matte to frost. It performed well overall with a few shades that could have been smoother or more refined in texture, which would be easily helped by a primer.

Wild Brown #1

Wild Brown #1 is a soft, yellowed peach with warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth, finely-milled, and velvety with a hint of powderiness. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that stayed on well for seven hours, so it was a shade I’d recommend pairing with a primer for better wear.

Wild Brown #2

Wild Brown #2 is a bright white with subtle, warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation with a soft, slightly drier texture, which applied more smoothly with a fingertip or a dampened brush. It lasted well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Wild Brown #3

Wild Brown #3 is a light, peachy brown with a satiny sheen. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented with a smooth, moderately dense texture that was still thin and finely-milled, which made it easy to pick up and to blend out. This shade wore nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Wild Brown #4

Wild Brown #4 is a muted, medium-dark red with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The consistency was smooth, firmer but not stiff to work with, so there was no powderiness while the eyeshadow blended out easily on my skin. It had opaque color coverage that stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Wild Brown #5

Wild Brown #5 is a deep, reddish-brown with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color payoff, but the texture was slightly firmer and stiffer, so I had to use a heavier hand to pick up product evenly. Thankfully, blending it out wasn’t an issue. There were signs of fading visible after eight hours of wear.
