On July 16, the sun shined down on Saint-Tropez as Miu Miu took over for the debut of the Miu Miu Tennis Club. The intimate, one-day-only event was held on a retro-styled tennis court, and guests wore Miu Miu ensembles from the Fall Winter 2022 collection. Moving away from the workwear-inspired collections of recent seasons, Miu Miu returns with a timeless silhouette re-imagined for its current runway show.

The sporty rendition of the famous Miu Miu micro-minis was the highlight this season; with a smaller waistline and pleated cotton in athletic blue and red, the skirt was worn with polos and accessorised with retro, white sunglasses. Models channeled their inner tennis pro as they posed and flaunted their skills on the court.

Fashion bloggers Chiara Ferragni, Veronica Ferraro, and Tina Leung, as well as fashion editor Julia Hobbs and model Camille Rowe, were also in attendance as Miu Miu provided visitors with a variety of leisure activities. The famous attendees were dressed in Miu Miu and carried bags made of the brand’s distinctive matelassé leather, as long-time friends of the design company.

The matelassé has graced innumerable Miu Miu products, from shoulder bags to pouch tricks to smartphone holders, and has become synonymous with the label’s individual character and excellent craftsmanship. It may now be seen worn by Miu Miu’s It girls for the Tennis Club debut. The bags were matched with slip-style midi dresses and summer, simple heels. Their ensembles reflect a mix of carefreeness and elegance.

Miu Miu’s Tennis Club collection referenced elements from their 90s collections and explored the concept of summer nostalgia.
