Catch a Glimpse of the Jaw-Dropping Styles at the 2024 Met Gala - 4 minutes read
Last night, celebrities from the world of fashion, film, music, and entertainment gathered to celebrate the opening of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit. The highly anticipated event provided numerous stunning fashion moments for us to admire. The dress code, inspired by a 1962 short story by J.G. Ballard, titled “The Garden of Time,” allowed for various interpretations. However, attendees showcased a plethora of archival treasures, and surprisingly, floral patterns for spring made quite an impact.
Kim Kardashian collaborated with Maison Margiela’s John Galliano to create a haute couture ensemble, featuring a pale grey cashmere cardigan, a corset made from antique silver brocade, and a skirt resembling lace and florals crafted from tooled silver metal, adorned with 98,000 crystals. Anok Yai stunned in a custom Swarovski creation, while a South African singer made a memorable entrance in a Balmain sand sculpture, requiring assistance up the stairs. Zendaya impressed with two striking looks, including a blue gown by John Galliano for Maison Margiela paired with a matching headpiece, and a black archival ensemble from Givenchy’s Spring 1996 haute couture collection. Nicole Kidman revitalized an original monochromatic Cristóbal Balenciaga creation from 1951, reimagined by Balenciaga’s Denma, inspired by a Richard Avedon photograph. Demi Moore captivated in Harris Reed for Nina Ricci.
