The Museum of the Future in Dubai recently opened and has been dubbed “the most beautiful building in the world” by UAE Vice President Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The futuristic museum finally opened its doors on February 22, 2022, after a two-month delay. The palindrome day is thought to be the most exceptional date in over a decade, making it a fitting launch day for a spectacular structure.
The Structure
The framework is located in Dubai’s Financial District, just a short distance from the world’s tallest structure, the Burj Khalifa high-rise building. The seven-story structure stands 77 meters tall and covers a total area of 30,548 square meters. The entire area serves as a metaphor. The building’s unique oblong shape represents humanity; the eco-friendly pile listed below represents the earth; and the gap represents the unknown future.

The structure, designed by architecture firm Killa Design and led by Shaun Killa, is currently listed as one of National Geographic’s most beautiful museums. The publication praised the Museum of the Future for its amazing design craft made of refined materials “enhanced by technical innovations such as 3D modeling and parametric building.”
Arabic calligraphy encircles the round building as windows on the outside. The calligraphy was a quote from the ruler of Dubai, who said: “Innovation is not an intellectual luxury. It is the key to the evolution and renewal of nations and individuals “. The architectural marvel is supported by a steel structure that was “digitally grown” using parametric tools and has no internal columns. The museum was built in collaboration with engineering consultancy Buro Happold.
The Experience
The museum was created for the Dubai Future Foundation, which was established in 2016 with the goal of institutionalizing future-shaping. It is believed that leading in the present is insufficient. Humankind must imagine, design, and implement the future.

The museum, which was envisioned by a group of visionary developers, artists, and filmmakers, is designed to be a mix of exhibitions, immersive theater, and themed tourist attractions. Each floor is dedicated to a different type of experience. Three of the floors are dedicated to immersive exhibits about health and wellness, ecosystems, and bioengineering, as well as outer space source development.
Several other floorings will showcase near-future technologies that aim to revolutionize the world. There is also a floor where children can explore and solve problems. In addition, the museum has several lab areas, a 1,000-seat multi-use hall, and a 345-seat lecture theatre.
As per Mohammed Al Gergawi, chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation, on dezeen: “The Museum of the Future is a ‘living museum’, constantly adapting and metamorphosing as its very environment drives continual and iterative change to its exhibits and attractions.”
The Vision
The Museum of the Future bills itself as a “beacon of hope,” a place where people can express their optimism and pledge their commitment to a more sustainable future. The museum, which represents the UAE vice president’s vision, aims to positively inspire and empower people to help shape humanity’s progress.
