Trump fact-checked on Fox & Friends after making false claim about Kamala Harris and Putin - 2 minutes read
The moment after Donald Trump hung up after a call-in interview with the hosts of "Fox & Friends," co-host Brian Kilmeade immediately fact-checked one claim the former president made about Vice President Kamala Harris.
During one of the many rambling diatribes Trump launched on Thursday morning, he claimed Harris, in her capacity as vice president, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and then, three days later, the Russian strongman invaded Ukraine, with Trump asserting many people aren't aware of that.
This is not the first time the former president, who is falling behind in the polls to Harris, has made that particular accusation.

On Wednesday CNN fact checker Daniel Dale put that lie to rest, writing, "Trump’s claim is false. Harris has never met with Putin. In reality, she met with US allies, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, at the Munich Security Conference in the days before Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Putin was not at the conference."
Never attempting to interrupt Trump on Thursday morning, Kilmeade waited until Trump was off the air before noting, "Yeah, just as a quick clarification, we don't have confirmation that the vice president went to Russia to meet with Putin. I know she went over to Europe right before the incursion when Russia invaded Ukraine which is still going on now."
"I've heard that said a lot," co-host Ainsley Earnhardt commented. "You don't have confirmation that's true?"
"No, I don't think that the vice president ever met with Putin," Kilmeade replied as his voice trailed off and co-host Will Cain changed the subject.
Bill Kristol wrote on X, "When even Fox and Friends feels they have to fact check you..."
