What Are the Requirements for Drawing Winged Eyeliner?

Prime With Shadow

From your lash line to your crease, apply a neutral or light eyeshadow. To keep the cat-eye from looking overdone, use a neutral or nude eyeshadow that matches your skin tone. It also acts as a primer, preventing smudging of the eyeliner.

Get The Wing

Hold a slim brush with the bottom facing upwards towards the eyes and the brush area on your nose for this step to help with eye uniformity. Position the brush from your nose to the outer edge of your brow, pointing to the tip of your brow. Make a short line or dot from the corner of your eye up to your brow. Make any necessary corrections before the eyeliner dries and sets.

Connect The Dot

Connect the dot to the middle of your upper lash line with another line. There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to the thickness of the line; it all depends on the look you want to achieve. Pull your eyeliner from the outer corner of your eye to the center of your lid.

Fill In

To make a connecting line, slowly pull the eyeliner from the inner corner of your eyes to merge with the ready cat-eye, then continue across your eye until you reach the outer corner of your eyelid.
