Fear of God and Adidas Unveil Their Inaugural Collection - 2 minutes read
After a patient wait spanning three years, the Fear of God x Adidas collaboration has at last materialized, seamlessly intertwining the worlds of sports and fashion in an unprecedented fashion. Dubbed FOG Athletics, or simply Athletics, this collaborative venture effortlessly blends Jerry Lorenzo’s love for basketball and impeccable tailoring, unveiling a collection poised to redefine the landscape of sportswear.
Jerry Lorenzo, the visionary force driving Fear of God, introduces what he aptly terms the “third pillar” of the brand—Fear of God Athletics. This new addition proudly stands alongside the brand’s distinguished mainline collections and the cherished Essentials sub-label.
As per the brand’s official statement, Athletics “completes the brand architecture of Fear of God, which was established in 2013.” From generously proportioned drill tops to track pants reminiscent of NBA Tear Away pants, albeit imbued with a minimalist futuristic sensibility, Athletics signals a departure from Fear of God’s conventional roots. The era of distressed shirts and slender jeans gracefully gives way to well-defined lines and refined tailoring, emblematic of FOG’s evolution.
Following a remarkable runway presentation at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl and a discreet pop-up event in Shanghai, the inaugural collection of FOG Athletics has finally emerged, living up to every anticipation. This ready-to-wear assortment intricately weaves together opulence and utilitarian flair.
The announcement is accompanied by a tastefully curated visual narrative featuring sepia-toned glimpses of Fear of God-branded goggles, jerseys, and hoodies. While specific details about the apparel remain undisclosed, the debut line encompasses essentials such as zip-ups, sleeveless tops, jackets, performance crewnecks, and accompanying accessories.
On December 3, Athletics made its online debut at Fear of God and Adidas’ CONFIRMED platform. Additionally, select Adidas DTC stores will unveil the collection on December 6.
