The top exports from Vietnam are textiles, footwear, and headgear. Vietnam is the second-largest exporter of footwear in the world and one of the top five countries for textiles. By 2025, experts estimate that Vietnam's exports of footwear and textiles might total 108 billion US dollars. Vietnam's populace works in the textile and shoe industries to a degree of about 70%. Vietnam's textile exports in 2022 were estimated to be over 24 billion US dollars per import-export statistics reports. While in 2021 it was approximately 21 billion US dollars. These include woven fabrics, cotton fabrics, knitted fabrics, and fabrics with plastic coatings, among others.

In contrast, Vietnam exported 26 billion dollars worth of leather and footwear in 2022. According to data from Vietnam's customs, the top countries importing leather and shoes from Vietnam were the United States, China, Belgium, Japan, and Germany. 

In 2022, Sahara International and Golden Star Company were the main exporters of footwear from Vietnam. Saigon Shoes Joint Stock Company, Quoc Dinh Trading, and Mai Nguyen Fashions are three further significant footwear exporters from Vietnam.
