The Indian Dalits were promised land and wages if they worked hard.

The Black Africans were sold by their own kind, taken away in ships to an unknown world INVOLUNTARILY. 

They were even locked down in the bowels of those vessels, so they couldn't recognize East from West, in any attempt at escape.
