How Nora lost 96 Pounds And How You Too Can ! - 3 minutes read
Transformation of the Day: Nora lost 96 pounds with healthy eating habits and exercise. High blood pressure and pre-diabetes could not stop her. After she gave birth in October 2019, she decided to change her lifestyle because she wants to be there for her family for years to come.
What was your motivation?
My health was my motivation. I had my baby in October 2019. I had high blood pressure, I was pre-diabetic, and I wanted to change. I weighed 334 pounds on the day I was discharged from the hospital. I was so depressed and miserable. I hated how I felt and looked.
What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
My kids and my husband are my motivation. Being around for them and seeing them grow up was something I have to be apart of. As a morbidly obese person, I was in danger of not being around for them, and that was so scary.
How did you change your eating habits?
During my first month (in January 2020), I went on a 21 day Daniel Fast. During the fast, I wasn’t allowed to eat meat, dairy, sugar, fats, or processed food. I ate veggies and natural foods only. During that time, I lost 10 pounds.
What foods did you stop or start eating?
I started eating a vegan diet – all plant-based, no fats, and no fried foods. I used a plant-based diet and cut out fats and processed foods. Later, I saw a doctor and was prescribed Phentermine. It wasn’t a magic pill, but it did help to suppress my appetite, and I ended up actually losing another 30 pounds doing that.
What did your workout routine look like? How often did you workout?
I worked out at least three to five days a week in the beginning. Once the coronavirus came, I dropped down to three days, and I mostly go walking whenever I get the chance or do at-home workouts and videos
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 334 pounds, and my current weight is 283 pounds.

What is your height?
5’4 1/2″
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey in November 2019.
How long did your transformation take?
It took me about 5 1/2 months to lose 50 pounds, but my goal is actually to lose 100 pounds. I have 100 more pounds to go, but I’m so excited and ready, Y’all. It’s such an excellent feeling
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
I’ve learned to stay consistent and don’t give up, even on days when you don’t feel like it or when it’s not convenient.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Just get started. Don’t worry about not having it all, having all the equipment or all the resources. Just start. I think you will see the results you achieve and it will motivate you to continue.
Is the weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No. I don’t plan to have weight loss surgery at this point. Instead, I think I’m going to do it on my own. Maybe after I’ve reached my goal, I’ll have some kind of reconstructive surgery for the loose skin, or I’ll have a breast reduction (which I’ve wanted all my life).
