Jamie xx, as fleeting as his releases are, has just released his second single of the year, “KIL DEM,” today. In reality, he’s only released three new original tracks since his 2015 album In Colour, as well as one remix, one “live remix,” and a club version of “SeeSaw” from the album.

The new single today employs his signature minimal and melodic production, mixing catchy looped and chopped vocals with a basic melody and rhythm that is an instant earworm — but maybe more crucially, the minimal production allows for remixes to fill in the gaps. They don’t need to be filled in the first place. Jamie xx will be performing live this weekend at Forest Hills Stadium in New York, the Portola Festival in San Francisco, and the Hollywood Bowl at the end of the month.
