Video Productions in Dallas city - 3 minutes read
Dallas, city of Dallas, Collin, and Denton counties. Dallas County is the seat (1846) located in north-central Texas. It is located close to the river's junction within an area of gentle prairies, hills and tree-lined creeks. The winters are pleasant and there are only few cold days. The summers are hot and humid with moderate to high levels of humidity. Dallas is the third-highest populated city in the state, following San Antonio and Houston. It is also home to the metropolis of the Dallas Fort Worth metropolitan area, also known as the Metroplex. Fort Worth lies 30 miles (48 kilometers) west. Other major cities of the metropolitan region comprise Arlington, Carrollton, Denton, Garland, Grand Prairie, Irving, Lewisville, Mesquite, Plano, Richardson, and University Park. Dallas is the home of a council-manager administration founded in 1931.
The modern city
Dallas nowadays is a vibrant city, known for its high concentration of retail stores and restaurants. Skyscrapers, like Bank of America Plaza (1985) and Reunion Tower (1978), create a striking night skyline. Because of the high percentage of single-family homes, which make up about two-thirds (about two-thirds) of all living units in this region, the population density is small for a metropolis of this size. The city is ethnically diverse with just a quarter of its inhabitants is of European heritage. A quarter of the population are African American, and more than one-third of them are Hispanic. Dallas was the site of the popular drama on television, originally broadcast in 1978-91. The ranch in which the show was filmed is now a tourist attraction.
The modern economy of Dallas is diverse. Dallas is a world-class wholesale market and the site of the Dallas Market Center (1957) which is the largest wholesale complex in the world. It also houses the headquarters of the U.S. Army Air Force Exchange Service. The service offers goods and services for military personnel. Retail and wholesale trades combine with the provision of services (particularly financial, business and health) to form the basis of the economy. Dallas is the biggest commercial, financial, and banking city within the Southwest. More than 6,000 businesses have their headquarters in the city. The city is also a bustling convention center and an important hub for airline services. It is well-known as a medical center. The American Heart Association's headquarters are located there. Also, the Texas A& M College of Dentistry (1905) and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Dallas (1943) are located here as well.
