MAC Feast Your Eyes Tempting Fate Palette includes new formulas in an eight-pan palette. The Leather Lustre formula has a cream-powder feel, which gives the shades a denser, almost stiffer feel to the touch, though I found that in practice, they picked up readily with a crease brush and deposited/blended out well. The Sparkler finish has a drier, almost powdery texture, but they picked up well and applied evenly to bare skin without having to be used damp. The Prismetallic felt like the brand’s Extra Dimension eyeshadows, slightly less firm. The shades tended to apply a lot better in practice than when I initially swatched, which isn’t that common, so that was nice to discover!

Feast Your Eyes

Feast Your Eyes is a light, golden peach with a sparkling, metallic finish. The texture felt drier, a little dusty, with a firmer press, which resulted in sheerer coverage, though I found that patting/pressing it onto my lid achieved more medium to semi-opaque, buildable coverage (so not quite as sheer as swatched). It was more intense and more opaque when applied with a fingertip or a dampened brush, though. I had no fallout when working with it dry, which was really surprising. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Yesterday’s Gossip

Yesterday’s Gossip is a darker, slightly rose-tinted peach with warm undertones and a satin finish. It felt more like a cream-powder formula with velvety glide, a firmer, denser press that ended up picking up well with a dry brush and blended out almost by itself. The product yielded full color payoff that wore well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Golden Rage

Golden Rage is a medium, orange-toned brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable color coverage that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even laydown of product that diffused well along the edges. The consistency was moderately dense, almost cream-like to the touch–velvety, slightly malleable, but still firmer without becoming stiff in practice. There were signs of fading apparent after eight and a half hours of wear.

Midnight Stunner

Midnight Stunner is a light-medium, rosy copper with subtle, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff applied dry, though damp application made it fully opaque and a little darker. The consistency was soft, smooth, and a little drier to the touch, but it ended up not being prone to fallout when applied to bare skin. I was impressed by how shiny the finish was when using it dry. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

All That Jam

All That Jam is a rich, deeper copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a bright, metallic finish. It was richly pigmented in a single layer, regardless of wet or dry application, that adhered evenly to bare skin. The texture was smooth, slightly powdery in the pan, but it wasn’t prone to fallout during application. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

What a Pear

What a Pear is a medium olive green with moderate, warm undertones and a sparkling sheen. It had opaque color coverage applied wet or dry, though the drier application had a smidgen of fallout if I didn’t initially press it into place. The texture was slightly powdery, almost drier to the touch, but in practice, it “melted” on my lids for a very smooth, shiny finish. The eyeshadow lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Velvet Vamp

Velvet Vamp is a light-medium gold with moderate, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The consistency felt drier, more powdery in the pan, but it picked up evenly with a dry brush and adhered well with very minimal fallout when pressed into place. I was surprised it looked more semi-opaque in one layer in practice than when I had initially swatched it. The color stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Brocade Renegade

Brocade Renegade is a medium-dark berry with cooler undertones and a mostly matte finish. It felt like a cream-powder formula, as it was dense but velvety without being powdery at all. I didn’t think it would pick up well with a fluffy brush, but it absolutely did–I overapplied to my lid the first time I used it! The eyeshadow had nearly opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly and blended out almost instantaneously. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.
