Even though it was only released last year, the Bell & Ross BR 05 Chronograph has made quite a name for itself. The watch is part of the hugely popular BR 05 collection, which is known for its integrated bracelet that blends seamlessly with the case. The previous releases of black and blue dials have already proven that the series is here to stay. Now, at the tail end of this year, the BR 05 Chrono White Hawk brings the spotlight back to the collection with a moniker that evokes the majesty and strength of one of the most prominent avian creatures.
The watch’s silver dial with opaline white finish is immediately noticeable. It is pristine, bright, and refreshing, with a luxurious satin-finished sheen that catches the light and complements the case’s satin and polished surfaces. After all, when this dial was designed, the goal was to ensure maximum legibility. The use of neo-retro graphical elements, applied numerals, and contrasting details ensured this.
Nonetheless, this white dial remains functional at night. Because the skeleton hour and minute hands, as well as the matching baton markers, are filled with Super-LumiNova, one will be able to read the time even in low-light conditions. The automatic Bell & Ross Calibre BR-CAL.301 with chronograph functionality powers the watch. The design language is excellent, as one would expect from Bell & Ross, and this chronograph holds its own against the other versions, punctuating its charm with all of the timing information provided by the chronograph executed in red.
This is a very simple yet elegant way of distinguishing the different time displays on the watch. The ruthenium coated oscillating weight is visible through the sapphire case back. The hot Bell & Ross BR 05 Chrono White Hawk is only available in a limited edition of 250 pieces. The open case back features a metallized illustration of the eponymous hawk.
