It is normal to lose weight faster in the first few weeks. This is because your body loses a lot of fluid during this phase. Subsequently, weight loss slows down. Is it not possible to lose (further) weight? Then go to your doctor or dietician for advice. They can help you further and find out the cause.
1. You have unknowingly picked up old eating habits
You may have picked up your old eating habits unnoticed. You can gain insight into this by keeping a food diary for a few days. Write down all eating and drinking moments, so for example if you already taste something while cooking.
2. You eat less but move little
A healthy diet is a basis for losing weight and exercise helps with that. To lose weight, we advise you to be active for at least 60 minutes a day. Preferably every day of the week. This does not have to be an hour in a row, but can be divided into different blocks throughout the day. Do you healthily eat less, but don't lose any more weight? See if you move enough and if not, where you can expand your movement a bit.
3. Energy drinks
When eating less healthy, also think about what you drink. Although (fruit) juices and smoothies often seem healthy, you get a lot of sugar and therefore calories without noticing. For example, there are easily 7 sugar cubes in a 250-milliliter glass of fruit smoothie. Therefore drink water, coffee, or tea without sugar.

4. More muscle mass through sports
Have you started exercising more? Then you may have gained more muscle mass. Muscles are heavier than fat and that is why it seems that you lose less or no more weight.
5. You follow too strict a waste diet
We do not recommend following a strict waste diet for a long time. In the long term, it is difficult to maintain these diets because they are too strict, too one-sided, or too impractical. You do not learn a healthy lifestyle with this. There is therefore a good chance that you will fall back into your old eating and exercise pattern and will therefore no longer lose weight or gain weight again.
Medical cause
Various medical causes can make losing weight really impossible or very difficult. For example, certain medications can cause weight gain or make it difficult to lose weight. Consider, for example, corticosteroids, antipsychotics, or antidepressants. There may also be a problem in your endocrine system, such as thyroid problems. Or you may have a disturbed eating pattern, such as binge eating, which makes losing weight difficult.

If you suspect that there is a medical cause that has caused your weight to increase or that weight loss is not possible, always visit your doctor to discuss this suspicion. He or she can help you further and offer you the medical attention you need.
Genetic predisposition
Genes influence your weight, but obesity is rarely caused by genetic predisposition alone. There are only a few rare forms of severe obesity in which a genetic factor is a cause, making losing weight difficult. Healthy eating and sufficient exercise are therefore important basis for achieving and maintaining a healthy weight
Make realistic resolutions
You lose weight in small, but challenging steps. To maintain healthy weight loss, it is important to make realistic resolutions.
Lose weight together
Support from your environment is important during weight loss. It can help you on your way to a healthier weight.
