Summer Unrated

The NARS Summer Unrated 16-Pan Eyeshadow Palette is a new, limited edition warm-toned, neutral palette with a combination of shimmers and mattes, but it also has a spectrum of shimmers–from dazzling and metallic to more satin-like. The pigmentation ranged from semi-opaque to opaque, and the textures were usually blendable and simple to work with, with the exception of a few hues that produced fallout upon application.

Look Using this Product

Isla

Isla is a pale peachy brown with warm undertones and a matte texture. Even over primer, the eyeshadow was opaque in a single application and more prone to darkening than the shade’s hue in the pan. The texture was smooth, silky, and blendable with minimal fallout. It lasted for eight hours on me before beginning to fade.

Crete

Crete is a rich peach with strong, warm undertones and a satin finish. It featured semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation and a smooth, emollient texture that was thin but not powdery. It continued for around eight hours before dramatically diminishing.

Spiaggia Rosa

Spiaggia Rosa is a warm reddish-coral with a matte texture. The texture was soft, blendable, and little powdered, so I’d recommend applying with a gentle touch and building up coverage to minimize fallout. It lingered on for around eight hours before diminishing noticeably.

Orgasm

Orgasm is a light-medium pink with warmer undertones and a lighter, delicate golden pearl all throughout. The texture was blendable, soft, and somewhat powdery, and it provided opaque color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin. It lasted for eight hours on me before beginning to fade.

Laguna

Laguna is a light brown with a satin texture and overtones of warm rose warmth. It had opacity and a delicate, blendable texture that was slightly thin but not dry or powdery. It continued for around eight hours before dramatically diminishing.

Satisfy

Satisfy is a pale, creamy yellow with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. To minimize fallout, the texture was significantly thicker, thus it was best pushed into the lid. The eyeshadow was opaque and remained on for eight hours before fading dramatically.

Palmetto

Palmetto is a medium copper color with warmer undertones and a metallic sheen. The eyeshadow was well pigmented, with a smooth, blendable texture that was softly creamy but not too thick. It lasted for eight hours on me before beginning to fade.

NARS Komodo Island Eyeshadow (2018)

Komodo Island

Komodo Island has a light-medium, reddish-brown background with a lighter, golden shimmer running through it. It featured semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied best with a wet brush or fingertip; otherwise, there was considerable fallout owing to the slightly powdery texture. It continued for around eight hours before dramatically diminishing.

Palmas

Palmas is a matte medium golden brown with warm undertones. The eyeshadow was exceptionally smooth and silky in texture, with complete pigmentation that lasted for eight hours before fading dramatically.

Bird of Paradise

Bird of Paradise is a subdued, medium-dark orange foundation with pink and gold iridescent shimmer. It had a drier, thinner texture that required a stronger touch to pick up product uniformly and get it to adhere evenly. It lasted for eight hours on me before beginning to fade.

Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is a medium-dark orange with warm undertones and a pearl of a lighter, peachy orange. It had a somewhat drier, powdery texture that was thin and less flattering on the skin than the other hues in the palette. The pigmentation was generally opaque, and the product lasted for around seven and a half hours before significantly fading.

NARS Love on Fire Eyeshadow (2018)

Love on Fire

Love on Fire is a dark, reddish-copper with a transparent base that was packed with various sparkle sizes, predominantly copper and then contrasting pink and gold. While the product had some slide, I would apply it with an adhesive spray or a dampened brush to reduce fallout both during application and throughout wear. It stayed on for eight hours with just minor repercussions.

Tikehau

Tikehau is a dark coppery-brown with warm undertones and a matte texture. The color payoff was opaque, with a smooth, velvety texture that was blendable without being overly powdered or firmly pushed into the pan. It lasted for eight hours on me before beginning to fade.

Summer Moon

Summer Moon is a deeper, rosy pink with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The eyeshadow had a medium density, almost cream-like texture that let the bigger particles adhere to the opaque foundation. It continued for around eight hours before dramatically diminishing.

Bad Intentions

Bad Intentions is a deep reddish-plum with warm undertones and a metallic shine. It was densely colored and had a smooth, medium-dense, almost cream-like texture that took up beautifully with a dry brush. It lingered on for around eight hours before diminishing noticeably.

Fetish

Fetish is a dark brown with warm undertones and a matte texture. It had a thinner consistency, so it was more powdery and more prone to sheering out, but it was semi-opaque overall and buildable over a primer. It lasted for eight hours on me before beginning to fade.
