Porter Robinson Drops New Single ‘Hollowheart’ Featuring Amy Millan - 1 minute read

Porter Robinson‘s latest single, “Hollowheart,” featuring Amy Millan, has finally made its debut. It turns out that asking Porter Robinson to revisit his Worlds-era sound actually worked—it just took ten years. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Robinson’s breakthrough album, he’s released a track that was originally left off in 2014. After the release of his third album,“SMILE! :D”. Robinson mentioned in a 2020 tweet that he had wanted to include an extra interlude on Worlds but missed the deadline. Now, he’s given us “Hollowheart,” a collaboration with Amy Millan, who also featured on the album’s opening track, “Divinity.”

The track “Hollowheart” starts with a slow build, featuring soft, organic production under Millan’s vocals, which are intentionally distorted to evoke the sound of an old video game console. Following some dramatic piano notes, angelic strings emerge without the retro distortion, sounding clear and pristine.
