Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Question:

I presently use a butterfly defensive blade with old Tackiness Chop and Bryce. I can reverse the rubbers sides when playing and serving to respond to others rubbers/ style. I am a defensive player but can counter hit on forehand and smash on forehand. My rubbers are old and looking for replacement and selected the new Tackiness Chop two and Bryce if still available. Assuming those rubbers which would be the best blade? I am also looking to counter loop/top spin either blocking or away from table. How best to use the rubbers?

Your Ask the Experts question was answered by Shigang Yang. Coach Yang is the head coach at Atlanta International Table Tennis Academy in Duluth, GA and his response is as follows:

Hi David,

I suggest you can use the Dignics 09C because it creates more spin on the countering and will offer more power for your forehand.

For your backhand you can use Feint Long III. It will help you control the ball more.

 Thanks!

 Coach Shigang
