Inside Out 2 picks up where the original left off, with Riley reaching the age of 13. She's a well-behaved child, surrounded by wonderful friends, eagerly looking forward to her hockey camp and the start of high school. Thanks to the teamwork of the core emotions - Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust - everything runs smoothly at headquarters. However, when puberty hits, chaos erupts as new emotions like Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment emerge, resulting in the destruction of headquarters. Anxiety takes control and banishes Joy and the other core emotions. Nevertheless, Joy remains determined to save Riley and embarks on a mission to restore harmony before Riley's true self is forever altered.
