Nicky Romero returns with a new EP, Perception, in which the Dutch producer/DJ returns to his roots by adopting a more house-driven sound. The EP includes two new songs, “Hear Me Now” and “Work My Body,” as well as two previously released singles, “Pressure” and “Lose My Mind,” all of which were extensively featured in Nicky’s Ultra Miami set this year.

Both new tunes complement the previously released ones wonderfully. With soulful vocals over low-end synthesizers and a nasty tech-house drop, “Hear Me Now” could easily be a tune under Nicky’s Monocule moniker. “Work My Body” finds Nick fusing his more tech-house sound with a Future Rave atmosphere. It’s been inspiring to see professional producers experiment with new (or, in this instance, older) sounds and incorporate them into their setups and libraries. Nicky Romero is no exception.
