Amalgam Collection, a UK-based company known for its incredibly realistic replica models, has just released a new series of handmade Formula 1 collectibles. The Mercedes-AMG F1 W11 EQ Performance car is a quarter-size replica of Lewis Hamilton‘s championship-winning Formula One car from 2020. This limited-edition replica has been developed in response to a request from the Mercedes Petronas F1 team. The majority of Amalgam Collection’s replicas are scaled to 1:8 or 1:12 scale, but the W11 was built to 1:4 scale and measures 49 inches long, capturing every single technical detail of the real car’s bodywork, down to the smallest aerodynamic pieces.

The W11 was Mercedes-attempt AMG’s to overcome its long struggle with cornering, and it took three long years to develop. During the 2020 Formula One season, Hamilton piloted the car, which helped him to 11 first-place finishes. As a result, Mercedes won the Constructors’ Championship and Hamilton won his seventh Drivers’ Championship. At the Italian Grand Prix, the car also set the fastest pole position lap in history. Amalgam Collection used CAD designs approved by the Mercedes-AMG team and spent 4,500 hours developing and 450 hours building the model at the request of the Mercedes Petronas team.
If you want to own an Amalgam Collection W11, act quickly because the company only plans to produce seven 1:4-scale W11s for $35,000 each. Smaller scale models of the W11 EQ Performance are also available in 1:8 and 1:18 scales. A full-size replica of its steering wheel, measuring 11 inches across, is also available. The replica models are for sale on the company’s website.
