Day 6: Off to Dharamshala
Our next destination was Dharamshala, a place known for its Tibetan culture and serene landscapes. The journey from Shimla to Dharamshala was scenic, with lush green valleys and snow-capped peaks accompanying us throughout.
Upon arrival, we checked into a cozy hotel with beautiful views of the Dhauladhar range. In the evening, we visited the Namgyal Monastery, the residence of the Dalai Lama. The peaceful ambiance and spiritual vibe of the monastery were truly enchanting.
Day 7: Exploring Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj
Dharamshala and its suburb McLeod Ganj are rich in culture and history. Our day started with a visit to the Tibetan Museum, where we learned about the history and culture of Tibet. The museum's exhibits were both informative and moving.
Next, we explored Bhagsu Waterfall, a beautiful cascade surrounded by lush greenery. The short trek to the waterfall was refreshing, and the sight of the waterfall was worth every step. In the afternoon, we visited St. John in the Wilderness Church, a serene and picturesque church set amidst tall deodar trees. The church's unique architecture and tranquil setting made it a perfect spot for some quiet reflection.
Our day concluded with a visit to the Dal Lake, a small yet scenic lake surrounded by tall cedar trees. The peaceful surroundings and cool breeze provided a perfect end to our day of exploration.
Day 8: Departure
