Easy Peasy Father’s Day Pork Shoulder

Recipe by: Doug Stephen, Downlow Burgers

Favourite memory: “My favourite story about my father was the first and only time we went camping. It was the joy of cooking bacon with our shirts off in the rain … needless to say, it will forever be etched in my brain as both a painful lesson, but an absolutely great time as we were both laughing so hard we forgot to flip the bacon.”

6-8 lbs (96-128 oz) bone out or 8-10 lbs (128-160 oz) bone in pork shoulder (butt)

Rub

6 tbsp (90 mL) Mexican chili powder

4 tbsp (60 mL) garlic powder

3 tbsp (45 mL) onion powder

6 tbsp (90 mL) salt

3 tbsp (45 mL) cracked black pepper
