Two years after the last film, Deadpool is back in action, this time taking on organized crime. When one of his targets kills Vanessa, Colossus brings Wade to the X-Mansion to recover. Wade decides to honor Vanessa's memory by joining the X-Men. He soon discovers that a young mutant named Russell Collins is being mistreated by the staff at an orphanage owned by the Essex Corporation. It becomes clear that Russell will become a dangerous serial killer in the future.
