The main 10 Medik8 formulas break down thus:
Climbazole is proven to boost the effects of vitamin A by blocking the breakdown of retinoic acid. It leaves a reservoir of retinoic acid in the skin, which means a boost in collagen production and skin cell renewal, but without any additional increase in irritation. The climbazole essentially boosts the serum by 0.1%, without further irritation, meaning the 3TR is essentially a 0.4% etc
Advanced products for ageing or blemished skins (30+), highly effective for signs of ageing: Crystal Retinol 6 – £59.00 Crystal Retinol 10 – £79.00
Type of vitamin A – retinaldehyde Retinal can deliver results comparable to clinical-grade vitamin A up to 11 times faster than classic forms of retinol. The retinaldehyde is encapsulated in crystal complex cyclodextrin, the retinal is slowly released throughout the night to diminish any potential for irritation. Retinal is also antibacterial, which targets blemish-causing bacteria such as P. acnes.
Type of Vitamin A – retinyl retinoate in Day & Night, retinyl retinoate and retinaldehyde in Intense
Retinyl retinoate is a hybrid of traditional retinol and clinical strength retinoic acid. Encapsulated retinyl retinoate is exclusive to Medik8 and only available in r-Retinoate formulations. The Intense version contains retinyl retinoate and encapsulated retinaldehyde for their most powerful formula.
Irritation levels per product (out of 5, based on opinion, not testing! ):
Do not forget your SPF. Seek your physician’s advice if pregnant or breastfeeding.
