Dior Blue Velvet (189) Eyeshadow Palette - 2 minutes read
Blue Velvet (189)
Dior Blue Velvet (189) 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette is a new, limited edition blue-hued color story with two extra sparkly and three more matte hues. Due to the more matte tones being on the powdered side and so sheering out, it was one of the lower-performing Velvet palettes created.
Blue Velvet #1
Blue Velvet #1 is a frosted light-medium steely silver with delicate, chilly undertones.
Semi-opaque pigmentation
Fairly smooth consistency, slightly stiff
Blendable, easy to apply, little to no fallout
Long-wearing (eight hours on average for this formula)
Blue Velvet #2
Blue Velvet #2 is a purplish-blue with cold undertones and a satin finish. It was a little powdered, so it sheered out upon application.
Semi-opaque pigmentation
Smooth, lightly powdery, a touch thin
Blendable, sheered out slightly
Long-wearing (eight hours on average for this formula)
Blue Velvet #3
Blue Velvet #3 is a medium-dark purple with a satin finish and delicate, warm undertones.
Opaque pigmentation
Smooth, silky consistency, slightly firm but not stiff and had light creaminess to it (“velvet” aspect)
Blendable, easy to apply, little to no fallout
Long-wearing (eight hours on average for this formula)
Blue Velvet #4
Blue Velvet #4 is a dark blue with fading undertones and a matte texture. Because of its shortcomings on its own, I’d advocate utilizing this over a primer.
Medium pigmentation
Overly emollient, somewhat powdery
Prone to sheering out, light fallout
Long-wearing (eight hours on average for this formula)
Blue Velvet #5
Blue Velvet #5 has a matte texture and is a rich purplish-gray-blue.
Mostly opaque pigmentation
Smooth consistency, slightly firm but not stiff and had light creaminess to it (“velvet” aspect)
Blendable, easy to apply, little to no fallout
Long-wearing (eight hours on average for this formula)
