ColourPop On a Whimsy Eyeshadow Palette - 4 minutes read

On a Whimsy

The ColourPop On a Whimsy 12-Pan Pressed Shadow Palette is a new, limited edition more neutral color story with pops of green and aqua–but it was mostly a muted, warmer-toned set of neutral eyeshadows. There were seven matte shades and five shimmer shades in the palette. The quality was consistent with ColourPop’s eyeshadow formula: pigmented, blendable, and long-lasting, with some powderiness/light fallout in a few shades.

So Ferris

So Ferris has an icy white base with a duochrome shift from green to gold for a soft, frosted finish. The texture was looser-pressed with a hint of dryness, so it applied with the least amount of fallout when pressed onto the lid with a fingertip, yielding mostly opaque color payoff. It lasted about eight hours before starting to fade.

Merry Go Go

Merry Go Go is a light beige with peachy undertones and a matte finish. It had a denser, more velvety texture that was slightly thicker, but not in a bad way, as I felt it minimized the fallout that often comes with lighter matte hues like this while still providing mostly opaque coverage when blended out. It stayed on for about eight hours before fading noticeably.

Games

Games has a matte finish and is a bright, light orange with moderate, warm undertones. It had an opaque pigmentation in a single layer that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well because the texture was smooth, velvety, and just a tad powdery in the pan. It wore well for eight hours before noticeably fading.

Hop and a Skip

Hop and a Skip is a light-medium coral with moderately warm undertones (pink and orange) and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation that applied well to bare skin and blended out easily due to the soft, blendable texture that wasn’t too powdery or too firmly pressed into the pan. After eight hours of wear, this color began to fade.

Taffy Much

Taffy Much is a pale goldish-green with warmer undertones and a metallic sheen. It had a nearly opaque color payoff and a smooth, lightly emollient texture that was denser without being too thick or firmly pressed into the pan. It stayed on for about eight hours before fading noticeably.

Cold Drink

Cold Drink is a light aqua with warm undertones and a cool, bluish shimmer that gives it a metallic finish. It provided opaque color coverage in a single layer and had a smooth, moderately emollient texture that could have been applied more evenly with a brush. It lasted for eight hours before fading slightly.

Deep Fried

Deep Fried is a bright, medium copper with warm undertones and a shimmering, metallic finish. It had an opaque color payoff and a more loosely-pressed texture, so while it was blendable, it had some fallout and was best applied with a dampened fingertip or brush. It lasted eight hours and had a slight fallout over time.

Thrill Ride

Thrill Ride has a light-medium peachy coral base with iridescent pink pearl accents. The consistency was somewhat powdery, so use caution to avoid fallout, but the eyeshadow had opaque color coverage and blended out easily. It stayed on for about eight hours before fading noticeably.

Waltz

Waltz is a rich, medium-dark coral with warm undertones that are balanced between red and orange and a matte finish. It provided rich color coverage in a single layer that adhered well to bare skin and diffused easily along the edges because it wasn’t too powdery or firmly pressed into the pan. It wore well for eight hours before noticeably fading.

Greatest Ever

The shade Greatest Ever is a light-medium taupe with warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smoother, velvetier, and more substantial without being too powdery. It had a deep color payoff that lasted for at least eight hours on me.

Main St

Main St is a medium rosy mauve with warm undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was complete in one layer, and the consistency was soft, smooth, and blendable without being too powdery or too firmly pressed into the pan. It stayed on my eye for eight hours before fading visibly.

Funnel

Funnel is a desaturated, darker taupe with neutral-to-warm undertones that lean more olive and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation and a soft, lightly powdery texture that was blendable and easy to use. It wore well for eight hours before starting to fade on me.
