Juventus 'complete £63m deal for Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt'
The 19-year-old had attracted interest from several of Europe's powerhouses this summer but is now on the verge of completing his move to the Italian champions.
According to De Telegraaf, Juventus and Ajax have this Friday reached an agreement over the fee, which they report will be £63m paid up front.
There are only a few details needing ironing out before an official announcement of de Ligt's transfer can be made, which is expected either this weekend or next week.
De Ligt was granted permission by Ajax to remain in Amsterdam instead of travelling with the squad for a pre-season tour in Austria with both Juventus and the Dutch champions eager to finalise the deal.
The Holland international was previously told by Ajax he could leave for £45m, but Marc Overmars was not aware of the agreement and demanded a higher figure from Juventus.
Despite interest from Manchester United, Barcelona and Liverpool, de Ligt's preference was always to join Juventus.
