US Open Update: Naranjo and Sung Win U21 Crowns - 2 minutes read

The US Open is in Ontario, California this year. Many events have already concluded – with lots of action over the next few days. The top singles events (Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles) began on Sunday with preliminary rounds, but other premiere events like U21 Men’s and Women’s Singles concluded on Sunday. Puerto Rico claimed the top prizes in U21 Men’s with Angel Naranjo winning and Jabdiel Torres finishing second. Americans finished atop the leaderboard in U21 Women’s Singles with Rachel Sung finishing first, and Amy Wang taking second place.
Earlier in the weekend, Lily Yip logged two gold medals and a silver – on Sunday she scored two more golds (she has now won gold in Women’s O40 Singles and Doubles as well as O40 Mixed Doubles). Yuxiang Li has collected five medals, Patty Martinez-Wasserman has collected three medals, Dell Sweeris has collected four medals, David Sakai has collected four medals, Connie Sweeris has collected three, and Donna Sakai also has three.
In the concluded Para events, Tahl Leibovitz won singles (Para Class 6-10) and finished second in Para Doubles Standing – teaming with Nenad Bach (the winners were Alex Christie and Daniel Rosenfeld). Ilya Rozenblat swept the Parkinson events – winning Open Singles, winning Class 1 Singles, and teaming with Hamid Ezzat-Ahmadi to win Parkinson Open Doubles.
