(By: Bowmar Sports Team)
The 2022 WTT Feeder Westchester event was held from May 11 to May 15 with more than 20 different National Teams competing. This was one of the largest truly international table tennis events held in the United States in recent years.
A few results to highlight featuring American players and coaches:
The Women’s Singles Silver Medalist Lily Zhang from the California TTA Club. Lily has represented the United States in the Olympic Games three times and won five National Championships. After this competition, her World Ranking rose from World No. 48 to World No. 42.
One of the Women’s Doubles Silver Medalists, former Chinese Women’s National Team Member Jiangshan Guo and her partner Amy Wang (representing the New Jersey Club) were the 2021 National Championship winners. They rose to 76th in the World Rankings for doubles pairs after this competition.
This is the first time that USA Table Tennis hosted an official ITTF or WTT Circuit Event where team USA has won a medal in both the Women’s Singles and Women’s Doubles.
USATT CEO Virginia and National Team Head Coach Gao Jun appointed Di Yu as the Coach of the US team. He was delighted to help Lily Zhang and Jiangshan Guo / Amy Wang as they achieved medals in the WTT Event.
