Rumors of a blossoming relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce took an unexpected turn this weekend when the singer-songwriter was seen sitting next to the NFL star's mom at a Kansas City Chiefs game.
After Swift seemingly rejected Kelce at one of her concerts in July, he invited her to one of his games, and she showed up. After the game, the pair were spotted leaving together.
While Kelce is one of the best players in American football and a future Hall of Famer, a comparison of their earnings shows how Swift is just in another universe.
Spotrac reports that Kelce will make $12.3 million this season trying to help the Chiefs win back-to-back Super Bowls.
In comparison, Swift brought in $13 million in ticket sales each night during the US leg of her concert tour.
In his 11 seasons in the league, Spotrac also notes that Kelce has made just over $77 million.
Forbes says Swift made $92 million … in 2022 alone. And that was before "The Eras Tour" this year, which has been an economic juggernaut — her cut of the revenue is expected to be in the "hundreds of millions of dollars," Fortune "conservatively" estimated based on their calculations.
She also has a net worth of $740 million and with the help of "The Eras Tour" — which is also now set to become a blockbuster film — she is expected to reach billionaire status soon.
Kelce is also doing well for himself off the field. He once had a reality dating show on E! called "Catching Kelce," and he now has one of the top sports podcasts that he co-hosts with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce.
If you watch sports, you've also noticed that he is seemingly in every other commercial. Andrew Petcash of Profluence estimates that Kelce makes about $5 million per year in endorsements with a slew of companies, including Nike, T-Mobile, Old Spice, and McDonald's.

None of this is to say Swift should or should not be dating Kelce. We'll leave that to Swift herself. However, while we are often in awe of what athletes can make playing games, this is just a reminder that this is Taylor Swift's world, and Kelce is just living in it.
